Integration of Real-Time System Prototyping with Qualitative and Quantitative Reasoning-Based Parameter Tuning Methods

This paper describes the integration of real-time system prototyping with qualitative and quantitative methods by Bottleneck Diagnosis I Improvement Expert Systems for Synchronized queueing network (BDES-S and BIES-S). By the qualitative reasoning, BDES-S diagnoses or identifies bottlenecks and their sources, and generates qualitative improvement plan. BIBS-S quantitatively estimates the effects of the improvement for bottleneck. BDES-S and BIBS-S assume a real-time transaction oriented concurrent software system (TCSS) as a synchronized queueing network(SQN).
